Foreword

 

These rules are intended to protect our members and create pleasant and a safe environment for everyone. We expect our members to follow these rules at all times with no exceptions. The rules will be fully enforced and non-complying members will lose their membership. We are very serious about our members’ safety and will not tolerate any aggressive behavior. Since memberships are limited in our park, it is a privilege to be a member.

 

  1. Admission

    1. Before admission to the park, a member is required to sign a lease agreement.

    2. Before signing a lease, a prospective member can come to the park for a trial week. Verbal or written consent from the park owners are required.

    3. The park is designed for professional dog walkers only. Unfortunately, no individual dog owners are allowed to the park at this time.

  2. In the Park

    1. Any dog must be on leash when entering or exiting the park.

    2. A member must carry a leash with him or her at all times.

    3. A dog must be under control of the member at all times. No dogs at large are allowed in the park (Subsection 3 a) and b) of Section 25 of Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (Ontario)) LINK to http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statutes/english/elaws_statutes_97f41_e.htm#BK28 Please familiarised yourself with this subsection.

    4. A member is responsible for his/her dog behavior. If a dog shows aggressive behavior to other dogs or humans, the member is expected to stop such behavior immediately. The member may want to move to another area of the park or leave the park for the day. The member may take any course of action which seems appropriate for situation and the particular dog. If such behavior reoccurs, we suggest consulting with a dog trainer. Members that failed in taking their dog under control will be warned. After a second warning a membership may be revoked.

    5. No bullying is allowed in the park. If your dog shows bullying behavior, please stop such behavior immediately. If your dog experience bullying behavior from another dog, please ask that dog walker to stop it. You can also report bullying to us if you are not comfortable confronting other dog owners.

    6. Every dog walker is expected to pick up after his/her dog.

    7. Please, refrain your dog from excessive and obnoxious barking. The park is surrounded by residential houses. Please be courteous of our neighbours.

    8. No food is allowed in the park, except for small training treats. Please keep them in your pocket.

    9. Please limit your smoking while in the park. No smoking is allowed within 15 metres from other non-smoking members. This rule may be revised in favour of prohibiting smoking in our park at all time.

    10. No alcohol of any sort is allowed in the park.

    11. Please do not pet other members’ dogs without asking first.

    12. Sick, ill or dogs in heat are not allowed to the park. Please think of others and do not spread any disease.

  3. Responsibility

    1. Every dog walker is responsible for his/her dog behavior.

    2. As a part of membership, a dog owner must sign a waiver. The waiver releases us and our staff from any liabilities that may arise while a member and his/her dog(s) are in the park.

    3. A member has to have an insurance policy. Even though we are striving to provide safe environment, some accidents may happen.

    4. Please exercise caution when entering or exiting park. Let other members finish loading or unloading dogs.

    5. For the safety of dogs, please keep the gate closed.

 

In conclusion, we would like to thank our members for adhering to these rules. Since we cannot foresee everything, we expect a dog walker to exercise reasonable judgment. When in doubt, please exercise precautions and ask us for advice. These rules will be constantly updating in order to reflect most common situations and suggestions from members. So please come back and check them often.

Each member agrees that he/she will not bring any dog(s) to park if they are sick with any condition or with any external condition, such as parasites fleas, mange. Due to outside nature of the park, we strongly recommend prescribed flea and tick treatments at all times.
